If one day the System tells you, "The world is going to end. You have to save it," how would you answer?
Lin Zhao glanced at the System message: D-rank anchor, monthly salary of 4,500, debt of 180,000, and 500 yuan off his debt for every Descender he deals with.
He asked, "Is there overtime pay?"
The System ignored him.
And so Lin Zhao began his life as an overworked office drone saving the world.
He shares a home with a man who calls himself an Immortal Venerable. His cultivation is unfathomable, but his greatest achievement each day is teaching a cat-eared girl how to use chopsticks. A rift opens downstairs, and standing there is something identical to Xiaolan, smiling as it calls, "Open the door." A higher-ranking anchor says a D-rank anchor's life isn't worth much, but replacing him after he dies would be a hassle. The System says that every time his Immortal Venerable roommate's cultivation regresses, he gets one step closer to being an ordinary person.
And tomorrow, Lin Zhao still has to go to work.
His supervisor's weekly report is still unfinished. He still hasn't seen a dentist. His rent is due at the end of the month.
As for the world ending?
Lin Zhao thought: Before it ends, can I pay off my 180,000 in debt first?
