Synopsis:
In an age of turmoil within the empire, a crack appears in the barrier between the mortal realm and the cultivation world. On the day the daughter of the Yin family is to be married, her husband is killed by an immortal who has slipped into the mortal realm. Unable to bear the twin burdens of her husband's murder and her desire for revenge, Yin Shu leads her clan onto the path of cultivation.
A legendary tale of a woman who leads (and exploits) her entire clan in the pursuit of cultivation, eventually rising to become one of the foremost families in the cultivation world.
The real synopsis:
Yin Shu's half-sister has exceptional aptitude and wins the favor of a cultivator, while Yin Shu is judged to have no fate with the immortal path.
Yin Shu refuses to accept it. She simply believes that if she doesn't pursue cultivation, the world will be missing a peerless celestial prodigy.
That cultivator is ignorant. She refuses to believe there is no treasure in all of creation capable of nurturing her.
But exploiting resources requires a banner to rally behind. So she takes advantage of the death of the husband she had only met a few times, using it to build momentum for herself. On her wedding day, she proclaims that she will avenge him, then leads her relatives, along with their wealth, onto the thorny road of cultivation.
Later, she no longer conceals her ambition. She rules with ruthless resolve and drives out her enemies without mercy. "My path is to strive to be first and put myself first."
My family members, I rarely comment, they are all good reviews. I really couldn't stand listening to this. The author wrote it confusingly. She was clearly a grandson's daughter-in-law, but she wrote it as a grandson. I couldn't understand it. I went back and listened to it again. I didn't know if it was written by Al. It is obviously a young girl marrying into the general's mansion, but it is written as a young man marrying into the wife's wife.
The setting is quite good and the diction is also very good. I just feel that the plot is not very smooth, and the reading is choppy. The plots are not well connected and not very coherent, and the next paragraph is very abrupt. Just like why I suddenly started practicing Qi after receiving the menstrual belt, what is the reason, or what is the original foundation of the heroine. The heroine went to her house to search, and when she was leaving, the heroine's father suddenly appeared in the heroine's car. It's like a series of plots put together, not like a continuous and complete story, maybe it's because of my personal understanding.
It's a good read, but it feels a bit confusing and tiring to read. There are so many characters and sometimes the wording makes it hard to tell who is who and who is being spoken of.
