One Word Exposes a Thousand Lies: Seer, You're Lying

In a world where everyone survives by lying, telling the truth is the greatest taboo.

Su Xie, an orphan from the border town of Honest Springs, was born unable to lie. Every word she speaks is an undeniable truth, making her the most dangerous weapon of all. Some want to use her; others want to destroy her.

When Bai Jin, the Lie Cult’s master weaver known as “Many Faces,” arrives in town with his lies, Su Xie’s peaceful life is torn apart. The expedition team, the prophecy, the migration plan: it’s all a deception. She is the only one who can see through the lies, and the cult’s most essential pawn.

To protect the townspeople, Su Xie is forced to travel with this enigmatic man. Bai Jin can twist people’s perceptions and weave illusions with lies, but his power has no effect on her. Her mind knows no lies, leaving his abilities with nothing to take hold of.

And so begins a battle between lies and truth.

They are cursed by a stone: whoever holds it will not survive seven days. They are bound by fate: they will live and die together, and can never lie. They face a cult that has run on lies for twenty years, and a prophet who wants to erase all truth.

When the people of the royal capital would rather believe a beautiful lie, a girl who has never told one will use her truthful voice to tear open the greatest deception in the world.

“Coal is white,” the prophet says.

“You’re lying,” Su Xie says.

She is telling the truth. Everyone hears her.
