"Lin Kexiu's Life Story" takes the Mid-Autumn Festival night of 1949 as the starting point and depicts the life of Lin Kexiu, a poor peasant girl in southwestern Hunan, who was full of suffering, perseverance, tolerance and regret amid the intertwining of the times and her personal destiny. She has been burdened with the fate of "hard life" since she was born. She suffered from poverty, famine and the loss of her father in her childhood. After her mother remarried, her stepfather Lei Ming's unexpected death earned her the reputation of "the lone star of evil". In order to get rid of the rumors, she resolutely joined the team of going to the mountains and countryside. She worked hard in the Xuefeng Mountain pioneer team to numb her soul. Unfortunately, she was raped and became pregnant. She was later assigned to the county breeding farm and hastily married Zhang Sanyou, a worker. The marriage began with estrangement, but gradually recovered through Zhang Sanyou's forbearance and kindness, and the family regained warmth. After the reform and opening up, Lin Kexiu contracted the chicken coop, but her children went their separate ways: the eldest daughter Guizhen changed her destiny with knowledge but was estranged from her mother, the second daughter Guimei and the third daughter Guizhu went south to work, and the son Zhang Shenghu indulged in the "dream of getting rich" and the family fell into ruin. She eventually fled Shenzhen and returned to her hometown, where she was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. When she was dying, she entrusted the silver bracelet to her three daughters and asked them to pass it on to her grandchildren for their studies. She passed away seventy-three years later on the night of the full moon of the Mid-Autumn Festival. At the funeral, the son held it in a dignified manner, but only the daughters tasted the sadness and helplessness of their mother's life.
