The Backbone of the Snowy Mountains

The biting winds of the snowy plateau cannot dispel the blazing transformation of a young man. Eighteen-year-old Lu Chuan was once a rebellious boy who drove his mother to worry herself sick, until a military uniform brought him to the summit of a snow-covered mountain. From the recruit who could never finish a three-kilometer run to a solid shield standing at the very front, his squad leader taught him what it means to "keep others safe behind you" by running alongside him at four in the morning, day after day.

When the test came, he fulfilled his promise to his homeland through his actions. Among his belongings, a letter addressed only to "Dear Mom" became an everlasting source of longing.

His mother traveled a thousand miles to ask just one question: "Was my son brave?" At that moment, the snowy mountain fell silent. It was the deepest pride and the most moving coming-of-age story.
