Deep Abyss Infiltration: The Triple Agent in the Flames of War

Synopsis:

The flames of war engulf China in 1937, and the fall of Beiping is imminent. Gu Mingyuan, a mathematics prodigy at Yenching University who seems carefree and irreverent, is in fact the most deeply concealed “sleeper” at the Military Statistics Bureau's Beiping station. One night, he receives a top-secret order: impersonate the supposedly dead Japanese Special Higher Police ace, the “Fox of a Thousand Faces,” and infiltrate the Japanese military.

Three identities, four masks. By day, he is Professor Gu, a charming intellectual devoted to academia. By night, he is the Military Statistics Bureau assassin codenamed “Jackdaw.” At the heart of the Japanese puppet regime, he is the cold and cunning “Fox of a Thousand Faces,” Akiyama Shin. When his childhood sweetheart, red agent Shen Nansheng, becomes a target he must eliminate, and the brother he trusts most turns out to be the real “Fox of a Thousand Faces”... the ultimate masquerade on the edge of the abyss begins.
