I am a hair, the hair of Wukong, the hair of the three realms.
This is my entire identity after traveling to the world of Journey to the West.
No body, no magic, not even voice. I can only live like a parasite by clinging to other people's hair.
I once attached myself to an old monkey that was skinned by hunters, and watched with my own eyes that the Huaguo Mountain was reduced to ashes in the flames;
I once clung to a weed at the foot of Five Elements Mountain and listened to the monkey who had been suppressed for five hundred years tell his story;
I have clung to the hair of heavenly soldiers, the hair of monsters, and the hair of mortals, and peeked at the truth of this world through the cracks.
And what can I, a hair, do?
I built a nest.
With the vision of a ruin architect, I built an "ant nest" in the cracks between human beings, monsters, gods and Buddhas - a shelter that does not worship gods or Buddhas, does not practice immortality, and just wants to stay alive. Mortals, monsters, casual cultivators, those ants forgotten by the three worlds have found a home here.
I built a road.
When everyone thought that I was going to become a new god, a new Buddha, and a new king, I said:
"I won't become a Buddha, I won't become a king, I only want to do one thing - build a house, a house where anyone can take shelter when a storm comes."
They said, I'm crazy.
They said, do you want to change the world even with a single hair?
They said, how can an ant like you change the rules of the Three Realms?
I just smiled and inserted the vellus hair into the crack in the three realms.
