Honghuang: The Heavenly Dao's Darling Daughter Just Wants to Lie Flat

Su Yu is a lazy girl who transmigrated into a primordial-world koi fish. Her lifelong dream is to lie around and let the sun warm every one of her scales. But she's Heaven's favorite daughter. She complains, “What a pain,” and her enemies are struck by lightning on the spot; she kicks a rock, and an Innate Spiritual Treasure rolls out.

While the Investiture of the Gods calamity rages, she sits comfortably on Kunlun Mountain as an independent cultivator, relying entirely on automated cultivation. The one who suffers is Daoist Lord Lu Ya, once a proud demon sage but now reduced to a full-time nanny, chasing after her every day to clean up her messes. He gazes at the sky in dismay: “Why does Heaven favor lazy fish alone?”

Yuanshi Tianzun is falling apart. The chosen ones he had his eye on all go off track as soon as they meet Su Yu. Yang Jian studies the Classic of Wellness, Nezha grasps the true meaning of eating, and even Jiang Ziya wants to set up a stall and return to his old trade of fishing. The sages work through the night to develop an “Anti-Lazy-Fish Formation,” only for Daoist Tongtian's rock-and-roll pipa to throw them off course by accident.

Meanwhile, the evil corpse of Tongtian, whom Su Yu mistook for a wandering singer and tipped three copper coins, plucks a pipa fashioned from the Qingping Sword, smiling as he watches the absurd spectacle of a lazy fish winning the Investiture of the Gods without lifting a finger.

“Beneath the sages, all are ants,” he says, plucking a string. “But why should an ant need to rise?”
