Ci Town is located in a deep valley at the junction of the two provinces. It is named after the kaolin clay that is produced as cold as bone. The porcelain making craftsmanship here has been passed down for seven generations, and the porcelain produced has a warm glaze and is sold at home and abroad.
But the people in Porcelain Town never made human figures.
Even if they are Guanyin, Arhat, boys and girls, as long as they are concrete human figures, the kilns in the town will not accept them. When asked by outsiders, the old craftsmen would just shake their heads and say, "The figure is attracting things," and then say nothing more.
This rule was followed for more than a hundred years until Song Jin came to Porcelain Town.
Song Jin is a lecturer in cultural relic restoration at the Provincial University, specializing in porcelain restoration and is well-known in the circle. He received an unsigned letter with only one photo in it - a palm-high porcelain doll with a glaze as white as grease, a simple shape and a dignified posture. On the back of the photo was written a line of words in thin gold:
"Porcelain Town Zhouzhai, waiting for appraisal."
