The Crown Prince's Consort-in-Waiting

The heroine is in a lower position, but beneath the surface she is steady, clear-headed, and self-possessed, creating a strong contrast and tension. The colder, prouder, and more condescending the hero is at first, the more satisfying his later pursuit of her and face-slapping reversal will be. The story focuses on emotional push and pull, tangled love and hate, and heart-wrenching conflict.
