Burning Bones by Lamplight

In the northwest of the Dayin Empire, demonic fog smothers the mountains, and evil spirits roam by night.

Qin Zhao, a boy from a remote, frigid village, was an ordinary country lad who could not even reach the threshold of cultivation.

One stormy night, he rescued a mysterious figure in black on Burial Dragon Ridge and obtained an old, battered green lamp and half a scroll of the Book of Ashen Heavens.

When unlit, the green lamp is nothing more than an old trinket.

Once lit, it can reveal flaws in spiritual meridians, traces of cause and effect, and even the deepest darkness in this world.

Seeking a way to survive, Qin Zhao left his village and entered the Taiheng Sect.

From menial labor in the outer sect, to the sect tournament, secret-realm trials, sword trials across mountains and rivers, a search for relics in the Eastern Sea, and a deadly battle at the Heavenly Pass...

Step by step, he came to see the true face of this immortal world:

The exalted immortal sects were merely guarding a door on behalf of all living beings, a door on the verge of breaking open.

The rampant demons and evil spirits were things from beyond that door, returning by way of the human heart.

And the lamp in his hand was, astonishingly, the last spark of an ancient lineage of lamp guardians.

So what if I have mortal bones?

The day I light this lamp will be the day all the heavens bear witness to me.
