The Abyss descends, and the world undergoes a transformation. When they turn eighteen, everyone can enter the canyon and draw their own Hex Augment.
Some draw the prismatic Jeweled Lotus, gaining magic critical strikes and becoming the Thunder Mage! Others draw the prismatic Sniper's Scope, sending sword energy surging for thirty thousand miles!
In a world with little healing and monsters that deal excessive damage, going full tank just makes you a disposable punching bag.
When Su Chen awakens, three options appear before him, and without hesitation, he instantly picks the useless Tank Engine talent that everyone online agrees only an idiot would choose!
“Have you lost your mind? Going full tank is just waiting to die!” Su Chen sneers inwardly at everyone's mockery and the green-tea school beauty dumping him on the spot.
“Ding! Tank Engine activated: killing monsters lets you stack maximum health without limit!”
From then on, everything changes.
Years later, extraterrestrial gods descend, each casual strike dealing tens of millions of points of forbidden-spell damage. As all of humanity despairs, Su Chen quietly shows off his health bar, now completely black.
“Come on, you can hit me for three minutes first. If I take half a step back or even furrow my brow, I lose.”
