Thank you to the tens of thousands of readers of the first volume of "Onward"! Thanks to the love and encouragement of many readers, I finally took up writing and completed the second part of "Forward, Forward". I hope to once again restore the true iron-blooded military journey of a generation with simple pen and ink.
This is a story written by a veteran, and the whole process is authentic and recreates the real military camp years in the past. Wearing a green 1965 military uniform with two bags of grass and a pair of rubber-soled liberation shoes are the deepest and most unforgettable marks of the times in the hearts of veterans.
In the military camps of that era, comrades-in-arms called each other comrades, and there was no talk of political loyalty, only revolutionary friendship. Holding squad affairs meetings and heart-to-heart talks between officers and soldiers are daily routines; everyone is meticulous in organizing housekeeping and writing letters of determination. Joining the party and being promoted are the simplest and most determined ideals of countless grassroots soldiers; working in the fields to produce, helping cooks in the canteen, and going out on official business are all required courses in the military camp day after day.
On the battlefield, soldiers clutched Type 56 semi-automatic rifles and Type 56 submachine guns; on the road to the camp, Jiefang trucks and Beijing 212 jeeps raised bursts of dust, forming a unique military camp scenery of that era. I would like to use this article to restore the real military camps and battlefields, and to pay tribute to that magnificent army with pure blood and unchanging original intentions.

In 1979, I went to university in Kunming. When I returned to school after the Spring Festival, the school organized us to prepare for war. Each department divided the work according to grade. Some were responsible for air defense and concealment, fire fighting, and health care. Our counselors were professional soldiers.
