I Dug Up a Star Interstellar Groom, Now I’m the Head Caretaker

Lin Wang is an utterly ordinary manual laborer at a seafood market.

Then one day, she “digs up” a man who glows blue all over and claims to be her “legal spouse.” He has lost his memory.

The man is named Lu Chen. He is the interstellar commander-in-chief, and is currently suffering from frozen assets and amnesia. She is now responsible for looking after him.

Even more absurdly, the old watch she picked up turns out to be a galactic wanted signal: the “Starseer Beacon.”

From then on, Lin Wang’s life is turned upside down:

One moment she’s fretting over her landlord’s leaky roof, and the next a mysterious woman crashes through the ceiling begging for help, claiming, “Something’s happened to the Ark!”

One moment she’s teaching Lu Chen how to order takeout on his phone, and the next he’s at her ear, reviewing “entropy-increase errors” in a cold electronic voice.

To survive in this crisis-ridden universe, Lin Wang is forced to become the “Chief Caretaker.”

With one hand, she keeps a volatile interstellar big shot in check; with the other, she soothes a pair of eccentric AIs: a sharp-tongued butler and a good-for-nothing adorable pet.

While everyone else pilots starships and fights wars, she’s at a market on Earth figuring out how to patch the roof.

While everyone else negotiates interstellar mergers worth tens of billions, she’s teaching her boy husband how not to pass out from the smell of fish.

Then one day, after Lin Wang enters a string of strange code, a sharp pain shoots through her wrist.

A line of text appears on the screen: “Entropy-Shift navigation ready. Welcome back, Chief.”

Looking at Lu Chen, who is carefully helping her sort the goods, Lin Wang falls into deep thought:

Did she raise herself a boy husband, or some old ancestor capable of turning the universe upside down?
