Ban Mo

Preface

A craftsman’s heart dwells within the square and the circle; the finest creations under heaven take shape within the bounds of rules.

At the end of the Spring and Autumn period, the feudal lords vied for supremacy, and war fires blazed across the land. In this age of collapsing rites and music, there was a group of people who wielded neither blades nor political power, yet changed the face of the world with their skillful hands. They used wood and stone as paper, and axes and chisels as brushes, carving the mark of civilization into the land of Huaxia.

Gongshu Ban, later known as Lu Ban, was the brightest among them.

This is a story about creation and destruction, craft and morality, and the hearts of artisans and humanity.
