Reclusive Sword Immortal: You’re Telling Me You’re at Court?

Xiao Chen, a Sword Immortal who has remained hidden for centuries, lives on the frontier under the assumed name of a scholarly instructor. He should have been free to live apart from the world, but the arrival of Yun Yao, the eldest princess of Great Xia, drags him into the court’s political strife. Amid this whirlpool of ambition and power, Xiao Chen holds a sword that cuts through illusion. He rescues an orphan girl, foils conspiracies, and slays evil spirits. With his sword heart, he measures the hearts of men; with his cultivation, he brings balance to the court.

But when the hand behind it all finally reveals itself and shocking secrets come to light, the struggle for power proves to be a continuation of the thousand-year feud between the immortal and demonic paths. Can this Sword Immortal, who has long looked beyond worldly affairs, remain detached? Does this sword fall for the mortal world, or does it strike in defense of the Dao heart?
