Surviving the Apocalypse: From Security Guard to Base Defender

The zombie virus erupted without warning, and the city fell overnight. My name is Chen Ye. I worked the night shift as a security guard at a supermarket, and watched with my own eyes as people dropped one by one and mutated. The streets were full of wandering living dead, biting and devouring people. The world I once knew had completely collapsed. Only later did I learn that the virus was called “Ashes.” It spread through saliva and blood, with a terrifyingly short incubation period: in just a few hours, you became a zombie. A few other survivors and I fled to the suburbs and set up a makeshift camp in an abandoned factory. Little by little, it grew into a post-apocalyptic base city, with iron walls, watchtowers, and generators, all scavenged from the ruins. I recorded every day in my diary: who died, where we found supplies, how we evaded the zombie horde... Then one day, I rescued a girl trapped in an abandoned hospital. She was Pei Zhao, the campus belle, cool-headed and stubborn, and she became a key member of the base. We struggled to survive every step of the way, going from running for our lives to fighting back. In the end, we built a safe zone and sent out a signal to the outside world, searching for a way to end this apocalypse.
