Ming Yan is stunned. “You’re the master of the house? You’re so young?” The young man is razor-tongued. “If you think I’m young, I think you’re old.” His words are vicious, and it turns out his body really is poisoned too. On their first meeting, he suddenly takes ill, his whole body freezing stiff. The household servant kneels before her. “The truth is, hiring you as a tutor was just an excuse. To cure our master’s illness, he needs a girl like you to do… that sort of thing with him.” Ming Yan: ! Later, after somehow owing the sharp-tongued young man a great many favors, she decides to consider it repayment. Once she’s repaid him, they’ll be even. Later still, when Ming Yan goes on a blind date with a handsome man, the young man corners her at the hotel. Ming Yan argues her case. “I kindly helped cure your poison. How did you end up clinging to me? You don’t get to control my private life.” The young man’s dark eyes are calm as he looks at the diamond ring she can’t remove from her ring finger. He smiles seductively. [You think I can’t? A year ago, in Qingshui Village, you were already married to me.] Ming Yan: ? Now she remembers. But back then, hadn’t she only taken part in a “Marry the Dragon King” activity?
