A modern-day CEO dies unexpectedly and returns to the underworld, where she learns that she was once the Nine Heavens Phoenix Immortal, who perished ten thousand years ago after a fierce battle against demons.
A thousand years ago, her love with Xiao Hong came to nothing. She lost her immortal root and fell into a cycle of lifetimes marked by short lives and loneliness. To reclaim her immortal root and break free of fate, she beseeches Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva to defy Heaven and change her destiny.
A bowl of the River of Forgetfulness seals away her past. Carrying her modern-day mind, she is reborn as Da Ya, a poor girl who has fallen off a cliff and lies at death’s door.
Badly injured and responsible for her young siblings, she hides her talents, hoping to secure a peaceful life through careful planning and cleverness.
But war breaks out. While fleeing through the mountains, she rescues the badly wounded Xiao Hong. The enemy launches a sudden attack, slaughtering all the neighbors traveling with them. Only she and her siblings survive, trapped in a desperate predicament.
With nowhere else to turn, she enters a military camp and sees twenty thousand refugees who have lost their homes. A brilliant plan to settle the people and help them save themselves astonishes the court. But when an ancient prophecy about a phoenix aiding the world spreads, it arouses the Crown Prince’s suspicions. Black-clad guards watch her day and night, and danger closes in from every side.
To protect her siblings and break free of her shackles, she devises an ingenious escape and slips away unnoticed. When war flares up again, she returns alone and escapes through a five-day wager. Keeping her head down and biding her time, she uses her wits to bring four thousand remnants of the army under her command and establish a guerrilla force of her own.
With rival states all around and two armies locked in a stalemate, she gathers talented people and sends them deep into enemy territory. By manipulating grain prices and disrupting the economy, she dismantles the enemy state’s foundations without shedding a drop of blood.
A thousand-year-old fate binds Xiao Hong to her, and he follows close behind at every turn. But after enduring life and death and becoming mature and levelheaded, she has no interest in romance.
No System, no love-struck heroine. Armed with nothing but a mortal body and peerless cunning, she tears apart the mandate of Heaven in a time of chaos and carves out a path to defy fate that belongs to her alone.
The warmth of everyday life shines against the desolation of a chaotic age, while political schemes keep readers on tenterhooks.
Description from multiple perspectives. It's a big improvement over the previous part and worth a look.
I think this book is very good-looking and wonderful.
The storyline is exciting and touching, worth collecting and watching.
-A nice novel. Like it very much. It completely breaks away from the previous routines of time-travel novels. The story progresses layer by layer, with constant reversals. It builds up strength after being frustrated, and the exciting points are full of foreshadowing. The plot structure is super gripping. It's just that the opening chapter is too warm and full of human fireworks, leaving all the suspense, tension, and ups and downs of the story in the middle and later stages. So I thought it was an ordinary novel at the beginning, but the more I read, the more I liked it. The more I read, the more I became addicted to it. There is no system, no love brain, and it is very worth watching.
