He is from Zhangjia'ao, a remote mountain village in Longdong, northwest China. At sixteen, both his parents died, and he was driven out of the village. He has no formal name and is known only by his childhood nickname. His ancestors were all mountain hunters. With no family connections or background, he is a true son of humble origins.
Born with the wild, wolfish nature of the mountains, he is patient and taciturn, keenly observant, remembers kindness and grudges alike, and acts with ruthless decisiveness. Deep down, he is insecure yet fiercely proud. He knows how to keep his abilities hidden and when to advance or retreat. He gives his all to those on his side and shows no mercy to his enemies. He has principles and never repays kindness with betrayal. As the story progresses, he grows steadier and more far-sighted, but never loses the tenacity at his core.
