At the age when he should have been chasing his esports dream, Fan Jin's life was shattered by reality first.
At Hua Yang High School, the esports program made the stars of the KPL seem within reach. But his father's gambling debts and the dark tentacles of an organization called “Huang Hua Wang” dragged every hope into the abyss. In a kidnapping long planned in advance, his mother was taken right before his eyes, leaving behind his gravely injured father and a shattered family.
While his peers gathered in the Rift for their next victory, Fan Jin was forced into a completely different kind of match, one that was cruel and without end. Beyond the school walls lay a bottomless underworld and his missing loved ones.
Esports was both his talent and his original dream, but it might also become his unique bargaining chip for entering the darkness and uncovering the truth. There was no turning back from this path: on one side lay the dazzling professional arena, and on the other, the thorny abyss of revenge and rescue.
He had to choose before the storm truly swept him away.
