The Strange Investigator of the Republican Era: A Journey from North to South

A fanfiction inspired by The Republic's Detective.

First, a disclaimer: I ship couples too, but love was so painful in that era. I don't want Qiao Chusheng to find happiness only after “escaping certain doom.” I want his road to be “smooth all the way,” and I want him to experience the love of family as well. So I've taken some creative liberties and added a new character.

These are just my personal views. The story centers on Qiao Chusheng's growth and the relationship between the two. After all, our “Detective Qiao” wouldn't have risen to the rank of one of the “Four Great Enforcers” through brute force alone. He simply never had a systematic education, so his growth will also be one of the story's main threads. As for the romance, of course it'll be sweet, along with a few of Detective Qiao's little schemes.
