An epic biography with the Anti-Japanese War as the background, telling the story of the growth of Hebei farmer Li Guoqiang from 1937 to 1945. The story begins on an autumn day. Li Guoqiang, a 20-year-old carpenter apprentice, was enlightened by his master that "rules are alive and people are dead". He experienced the tragedy of the Japanese army's raids - his sister was stabbed to death with a bayonet in front of the cellar where he was hiding. This moment of "vacuum" became a turning point in his life, and he embarked on the road to revenge.
