Beyond the Heavenly Dao, I Borrow Life Through Karma

Shen Zhi was born without spiritual energy. After three years without entering the Dao, the Aoki Sect declared him a cripple. It was only after he stumbled into Burial Sword Valley that he discovered he wasn't incapable of cultivating immortality: the Heavenly Dao simply couldn't "remember" him.

Others cultivate immortality by sensing heaven and earth. He does it by borrowing against the future. The karma of dying cultivators, the fate of sects in their rise and fall, and the bad debts of dynastic fortunes can all be deposited within him, then detonated, transferred, or settled within thirty days in exchange for a chance to ascend. But borrowed life must eventually be repaid. One wrong move, and karmic debt will turn on him, leaving him dead and his Dao destroyed.

The Office of Karma soon discovers a loophole in the cultivation world's register of fates: someone who "does not exist." From then on, Shen Zhi carefully navigates assassins and schemes from every side while investigating the truth behind his "spiritually severed" seal. Only when ancient machinations, a fraud perpetrated in the name of fate, and the collapse of the cultivation world's karmic order are gradually laid bare does he understand: he was not abandoned by the Heavenly Dao. He is the blade left outside it.
