Only Tread the Heavens

Shen Hao, a young man from Hangzhou, is at the lowest point of his life after his marriage falls apart when a dream of a golden sea of clouds calls to him. Following the signs, he ventures into Qiyun Mountain, where he unexpectedly begins the mysterious Trial of the Mountain Path: he sheds his mortal nature, purges and remakes his body, and tempers his bones. Through trials of life and death, he casts off his mortal shell and brushes against the threshold of immortality.

In a cave dwelling atop the mountain, he meets Shen Zhan and Lin Long, cultivators from another world, the Western Continent. To help them break through the barriers between worlds and return home, Shen Hao sets off across China in search of a fortuitous opportunity. Along the way, he rights the wrongs of the world, treads the path to immortality and breaks through the mortal realm, absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth as his cultivation steadily grows. From a disillusioned city dweller to a seeker on the path of immortality, he presses forward through every obstacle with unwavering resolve. After gathering the opportunities he needs, he helps his close friends cross between worlds and forges a heaven-defying path to immortality of his own.
