Catastrophe Dragon Slayer Magic. It allows its user to freely create, control, and become "calamity" itself. It first manifests as ice, but as the user grows, they will gradually unlock even more mind-bending forms of calamity, such as storms and lava.
- Background: As a child, the protagonist was used by parents obsessed with forbidden knowledge as a vessel for the "Divine Calamity" and subjected to inhuman experiments. He was later rescued by the Sky Dragon Grandine and grew up alone. Because of this, he seems cold and speaks little, but deep down he longs for connection. He's an "awkward shut-in."
- Contrasting persona: "An ice-cold iceberg on the outside, a comedian on the inside."
- Cool exterior: He always watches from a corner and ends conversations with as few words as possible. In battle, he is as calm as a precision instrument.
- Comedic core: His inner monologue never stops, and he's always ready with a sarcastic remark. He often does something absurd at the most serious moments, like using magic to make an exquisite ice rose for a crying child, or freezing a powerful enemy into a piece of abstract art, then solemnly declaring, "This is art."
- Story tone: Passionate, moving, and hilarious. The early story focuses on guild life and comedy, while the middle and later parts gradually delve into the protagonist's dark past. In the end, through his bonds with his companions, he achieves self-redemption and surpasses his former self.
