There’s an Ordinary Star in the Sky

The first book I wrote was called Love Lost on the Road. I published it online as I wrote it, on Tomato Novel. Before I finished it, my niece told me that the title didn't match the story. She said that perhaps Life Without End would be more accurate.

I agreed with the title my niece came up with for me. But the book had already been published online, and changing the title required the platform's approval. It couldn't be changed right away, so I decided to leave it as it was for the time being.

Love Lost on the Road could be considered my autobiography, though I made up quite a lot. After I finished it, I read it over and over. There was something delightful about the fiction, and I found it quite interesting. But what would it feel like without the fictional parts?

I still wanted to write about my growing-up years, so I decided to write them as truthfully as I could. Perhaps that would better express my feelings, and I could also use it as a supplement and companion piece to Love Lost on the Road.

I will write, with a lyrical touch and in a highly condensed form, the story of my youth, from the day I was born to the day I truly started working. Let this be a tribute to the youth that has passed.

Before writing this book, I spent a long time thinking about its title. Then one day, I met an old man who loved writing poetry and had collected and compiled his poems into a book. It gave me the feeling that "the ordinary can hold something extraordinary." So I decided to call my story An Ordinary Star in the Sky.

All right, then. My story will begin with "The Old Man and His Poetry."
