The world is always so cruel and heartless, yet so utterly captivating.

They are alike: the world's most passionate followers.

Sayaka has always been chasing something.

“Happiness,” “Mom's smile,” “knowing everything about this world.”

But she has never managed to hold them tight and draw them into her arms.

Sayaka always felt those things were very, very far away, so she kept chasing after them, almost to the point of madness. She clung on and refused to let go, only to end up empty-handed.

Sayaka doesn't understand what she wants to grasp. It could be anything, even the blood gushing forth, but in the end, what she touches is that person's warm hand.

In that moment, her vision suddenly clears, and the boy smiles as he speaks

“Kukuku, I'm the first person in the world to discover the true value of this gem named Kanzaki Sayaka.”

“Don't follow behind me.”

“Come stand beside me, Sayaka.”

We were meant to stand shoulder to shoulder, shining together like the sun and moon.

A Dr. Stone fanfic. The male lead is leaning toward Senku romantically, but the ending is open (simply put, there's no chance before they build the time machine ^^).

The title was inspired by “empurple,” the song beneath the book by Mafuyu Asahina from Project Sekai. It's a lovely song, so I hope you'll give it lots of support. (The female protagonist's online handle is also a tribute to it.)
