Love in England

This is a story about searching and redemption: searching for a missing family member, searching for one's true self, and searching for a love that is imperfect yet unforgettable.

Chen Qian, a young woman from Beijing, boards a flight to Britain alone to look for her brother, who disappeared in London. After economy class is oversold, she gets lucky and is upgraded, taking the seat beside Gu Jiahui, a popular Hong Kong movie star. Exhausted, she falls asleep with her head on his shoulder. When she wakes, she realizes that the man beside her is the dazzling star from the magazine cover.

From an awkward first meeting to a reunion in London, from a heart-to-heart by the White Cliffs to piano music beneath the moonlight, two people from different worlds slowly grow closer on the streets and in the markets of a foreign land. He is tired of the fake life beneath the spotlights, while her musical soul, constrained by technique, yearns to be free. When family pressure and the storms of the entertainment world descend, they must choose between fame and fortune and what they truly feel. As the vow on a ginkgo-leaf bookmark mingles with London's night breeze, they finally understand: being real is the only act that matters.
