The Taoist Archaeologist: Digging Through Past and Present

Before his master died, he said, “The Dao is within you. Don’t go looking for it elsewhere.”

Chen Jing searched for more than a decade, but found nothing.

All he found was an archaeological job paying 6,400 a month and an engagement ring he couldn’t afford.

That was, until the nameless Daoist tomb was opened.

An ancient book no one could decipher, and a pitch-black stone stele without a single word.

The book recorded Daoist arts lost to Huaxia for a thousand years.

The stele was blank, yet the instant he touched it, light began to shine.

That light illuminated an ancient city found in no history book.

It also illuminated an answer:

Perhaps the “Dao” his master spoke of had never been in the human world.

Perhaps it was waiting for him beyond it.
