I Never Meant to Claim the Inheritance

This is a world of sword immortals, and Li Chengfeng just wants to be a nobody.

After transmigrating to the cultivation world, he has no grand ambitions. He just wants to find a quiet place to keep his head down and cultivate. Being able to fly is all he asks. So he joins the second-tier Wenjian Sect in the Eastern Wilderness, spends every day tucked away in a corner munching scallion pancakes, and keeps his cultivation at the sixth level of Qi Refining. He’s less noticeable than a rock by the roadside.

What he doesn’t know is that he has something dangerous inside him: incredible luck.

In a secret realm, while everyone else fights tooth and nail for treasures, he casually pokes at something and triggers the inheritance seal of an ancient Sword Venerable. A sword token he can’t get rid of latches onto him, along with a Heaven-grade sword manual. He doesn’t want to learn it? The Sword Venerable’s lingering spirit forces it on him. He doesn’t want the treasures? A senior who died thousands of years ago chases him down to give them away.

And so Li Chengfeng’s life becomes one where “the things I don’t want keep coming anyway”:

Li Chengfeng nearly cries: I really just want to lie flat!

But the sword token pushes him to grow stronger, his fellow disciples protect him, his senior sister’s pep talks get more intense by the day, and his senior brother’s sword gets faster by the day. Then there are all the girls who keep inexplicably showing up: the fiery senior sister from Luoxia Valley, the icy beauty from the Xuanbing Palace, the gentle sword cultivator from the Qingxuan Sect... Each one seems to have an unusually deep connection with him.

And what he does best is smile and pull out a trump card just when everyone thinks he’s about to lose, then keep pretending he’s innocent.
