Rotten wood cannot be carved, and a wall made of dung cannot be built.
——"The Analects of Confucius·Gongye Chang"
Rotten wood means withered wood. Abandoned in the wilderness, no one cares. Insects and ants eat at his heart, wind and rain corrode his bones, and time destroys his shape.
But among the rotten trees, new shoots sometimes sprout.
No one knows how it came to be, no one believes it can grow. It just pokes its head out from the decay silently, stubbornly and unstoppably——
Then it grows into a towering tree, providing shade for thousands of miles.
His name is Li Wu Jiu.
A man whose legs were chopped off, his left arm was severed, his eye was gouged out, and his tongue was cut out. A cripple who crawled out from the massacre. A person who was abandoned by the whole world, crushed by fate, and thought to die in the gutter by everyone - Kuchiki.
His legs will never grow back.
It's not that I can't—it's that I don't want to.
Where the broken bones were, he deliberately used spiritual energy to seal off the opportunity for growth. Because he wants to remember. Remember every inch of loss, every humiliation, and every enemy's face.
Incompleteness is his way. Incomplete, it is his sword. Incompleteness is his answer to those people——
You want to cripple me. Good. Then I will use my mutilated body to slaughter all of you.
This is the story of "The Roar of Deadwood". A story of destruction, hatred and loneliness. The story of a man who shattered himself until nothing was left, and then grew fangs again from nothingness.
The roar of rotten wood, no one listens. Only heaven and earth resonate with it.
