In the eyes of those high-dimensional players, the world I live in is nothing more than a full-dive online game they paid a fortune to play.
They descend into the bodies of the natives, as if putting on a collection of expensive outfits. They rampage through this place, treating human lives as fodder for leveling up. When they get bored, they log off and return to their clean, safe world.
And I am a **rat**, hiding deep in the sewers and watching them perform.
Rats have no dignity, only the will to survive. I pick up scraps from between their fingers and dig tunnels beneath their feet. Until one day, with an iron spike, I bit through the neck of a lone “god.”
