The Gods’ Fool’s Game: The Ashen One

A fanfic based on A Fool’s Game of the Gods. The game is over, but the echoes remain. Three years ago, sixteen gods descended and forced humanity to take part in the “Faith Game.” Cheng Shi was one of the survivors, a “clown priest” on the path of Deception who used lies as weapons and survived to the end. On the day the game ended, everyone thought it was all over. But they were wrong. The gods had left, but the “scratches” they left behind remained. They were echoes, wounds time had carved into the world. Left untended, the echo spaces grew and spread on their own. Their levels kept rising, while the chances of survival kept falling. Cheng Shi spent three years searching for the truth: echoes would never disappear, and only those chosen by the “scratches” could see them. Shen Ye was one of them. On her sixteenth birthday, the high school student saw a crack split open in midair above her classroom. A man’s voice came from inside: “The Faith Game never truly ended.” Now that man is standing before her, holding out his hand. “Come with me. Let’s go see the things that shouldn’t exist.” Shen Ye chose to follow him. She doesn’t know what awaits her: echo spaces, mazes of rules, or things older than the gods. The gods have withdrawn, but the embers still burn. The Echo Era begins now.
