A Song of Ice and Fire: Lightbringer

She is Tywin Lannister's sword. She won the tourney, but the wreath was placed on Cersei's head. She cannot cry or smile, and when all eyes are on her, she never knows what she should do. She knows only one thing: obey her father's orders. This is not a story about dragons and magic. It is the story of a girl forged into a sword, trying to find herself again. The protagonist's background is tentatively this: she is the child born before marriage to Jenny, the younger sister of Gillian and Joanna. (So the protagonist will resemble Joanna somewhat, and Tywin will take special care of her.) Then her mother dies in childbirth. She was betrothed, so the protagonist falls somewhere between legitimate and illegitimate. Gillian decides to take her out to sea so the child won't bear the surname Westerling, and they set off in search of Brightroar. The story follows the adventures that unfold. After a long time thinking about the protagonist's name, I've decided on Claire. It means “light” in Latin, which goes well with the Lannisters' ancestral sword. That's all.
