Xie Wushuang is the ruler of the Abyss, but she cannot leave it. At least she has plenty of servants to keep her entertained. One day, as she listens to the electronic pickles humans love most, a beam of white light suddenly illuminates the Abyss. Thrilled, Xie Wushuang chases after it and runs away.
The eerie creatures beneath the throne immediately clutch their heads and wail.
“That menace is finally gone! We don't have to crawl under human beds to dig up gossip for her anymore!”
“I don't have to pretend to be a fat orange cat or a calico anymore. She hits me if she doesn't like it, boo-hoo!”
“I don't have to steal spicy snack sticks anymore!”
As soon as Xie Wushuang lands, something calling itself a System tells her to complete missions. Ridiculous! Why should the mighty Lord of the Eerie, ruler of the Abyss, listen to some useless thing? And so:
At a palace banquet, the System shrieks, “Go save the emperor! He's about to be murdered!”
Xie Wushuang's eyes light up. “Who? Who's about to be killed? Do you need me to help?”
During court, the System sobs, “They're so pitiful. Hurry and help them.”
Xie Wushuang yawns and says it has nothing to do with her.
System: “My most noble, mighty, and majestic ruler, won't they all become your most loyal servants someday?”
“Save them! We have to!”
But why does that sickly man look so excited whenever he sees her?
Why do the civil and military officials all look at her with tears in their eyes?
And how did she become empress?!
