[Gourmet Food + Misinterpretation + National Destiny + Slice of Life + No System]
A century from now, an alien civilization will arrive, seize control of every resource, and launch a frontier-expansion game.
Explorers from every nation will be bound to their country’s destiny, but the Dragon Kingdom’s contestant will draw the only triple death zone in the world: an arctic tundra, a scorching desert, and a radioactive wasteland.
Supply rating: F. Survival rate: 10%.
Top post on the international forum: “The Dragon Kingdom: The Next Civilization to Disappear?”
The top-rated reply is just a picture: the Dragon Kingdom’s explorer crouches in the snow, holding a white lunchbox. A piece of braised pork hangs from the tips of his chopsticks, and a drop of oil sizzles a hole into the snow.
The caption reads: “They’re eating this.”
People around the world scoff. “A last meal before they die? Better eat well before they head off to the afterlife.”
A month later, no one is laughing.
The Dragon Kingdom’s score has soared to seventh place, and its death rate has fallen to zero. Stranger still, its explorers... keep getting fatter.
Intelligence agencies everywhere go mad. They send in spies, lock onto the site with satellites, and even steal leftover food from the lunchboxes for analysis.
The results leave them dumbfounded! A food energy report.
“Could the Dragon Kingdom have help from another alien civilization?”
In 2016, on Danfeng Street in Zhongjing City.
Chen Pi, owner and chef of Chen’s Stir-Fry, looks at dozens of boxed meals stacked into a small mountain on the dining table.
“Hey, Xiao Yao, the overtime meals are ready. Come pick them up!”
“Hm? What’s on the menu? Braised pork, spicy chicken, sweet-and-sour ribs, with mung bean soup.”
On the other end of the phone, Zhou Junyao holds the receiver and studies the unstable electromagnetic channel.
She is silent for two seconds. “Boss, I’m on my way!”
She floors the accelerator.
