Zhu Yang unexpectedly transmigrates into the body of Zhu Youjian, the Prince of Xin, who has just come of age. In this life, destiny is on his side: he is Chongzhen himself. Watch as he turns the tide when all seems lost, saves a crumbling empire, and composes a triumphant song for the Ming Dynasty!
A few things worth clarifying:
[1] A special forces soldier transmigrates. Yeah, it's an overused template.
[2] The setting is basically realistic, but I'll add some elements resembling ancient martial arts. The characters will still be within the bounds of normal people; it's just a bit of exaggeration, like in Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Water Margin. To put it plainly, I think transmigrating into the body of a Ming emperor is too dangerous, so I can't relax unless I give him a boost to his combat abilities. And with that foundation, the point isn't to fight on the battlefield. It's to let him move around more freely later, instead of being unable to leave the palace because of security concerns. That would be too stifling. I want him to travel all across the Ming realm!
[3] About the female lead: he's the emperor, so pretending there won't be any women is nonsense. But I'm not planning a harem; she'll be more of a touch in his everyday life. I might add Consort Tian, though that's not certain. The female lead won't get much page time, but she won't be an NPC either. Life can't be all fighting and killing.
[4] The first volume is about the nine months before his enthronement, as you can tell from the title. I expect it to run about 150,000 words. After that come war and reforms, then he goes out into the wider world, and finally all nations pay tribute. That's roughly the rhythm of the outline.
This is my first time writing a book, so give yourself some encouragement😁. My book may be in vain, it may be boring, and it may not be deep enough, but I will definitely not disgust anyone with the plot, I promise!
