[Western Fantasy] + [Everything I wanted to mash together is in here]
Pain is the world’s prevailing theme.
In a world with heroes, war is no different, except there are staves and magic.
In the third month of winter, Trini huddled in a trench and ate his last bite of food.
“Captain, the war is over.”
A comrade’s voice reached his ears. His body stirred futilely, his clouded eyes still holding on to the last vestige of humanity.
“I know, Wilson.”
“Once the reinforcements arrive, we’ll go home.”
The rest of his words faded into a murmur. Through the white mist of his breath came his comrade’s voice.
“We’re not going home, Captain.”
“Let yourself go.”
“Remember what I said at the end? I’m glad I could still be useful after I died.”
His long arms lay limp at his sides. Stubbornly, he refused to accept the truth.
“Don’t talk nonsense. The general said the reinforcements will be here soon.”
“The general said...”
The wind died, and so did the conversation. He was left alone, buried in the snow along with the life he had lived for more than twenty years.
Years later, crosses covered the land, but one person was missing.
“Mr. Deer, Mr. Deer!”
A little girl flitted around him like a fawn, rising onto her tiptoes to reach the antlers atop his head.
“Are we taking them home?”
“More or less.”
“That sounds just like one of the great deeds of the Hero!”
He gently patted the girl’s head, his claws ruffling her once-smooth golden hair.
“A Wendigo as a hero? That sounds pretty strange, no matter how you look at it.”
“Huh? But Mr. Deer is so strong!”
“Being strong alone doesn’t make someone a hero, does it?”
“Then, Mr. Deer...” Confusion filled the little girl’s bright eyes.
“What does it take to be a hero?”
The writing is not bad, but the protagonist is always tortured by the Holy Light, which feels weird and aggrieved. The look from the back is pretty good
The three plots are relatively separated, but I can still read it (I don't know if it's because the article has certain Riddler attributes🤦). The author's writing style is actually pretty good. If the author can coordinate the content of the article well and integrate the world view, I think I can still read it. But I am very curious about what route the author plans to write (after all, the conflict between the protagonist and the feudal trash is very obvious). It writes out all the ugliness of the nobility. Although the productivity is enough (although I don't know if the technology tree is partial and only weapons), the production relationship has not kept up. Is it trying to eliminate personal suppression that is unrealistic but in line with the Western fantasy worldview (although the first few brave men have not done it), or start with the system and engage in vigorous struggle. The author said that he will rectify it later. I will give it 4 stars first. I look forward to it.
It's a very interesting novel, and the writing is very good. I haven't seen such a wonderful different world in a long time. Unfortunately, it's not suitable for me. I may prefer killing and killing, but the overall rhythm and emotion of this book are completely in place. It is a very good book 👍
Good book, similar to Warhammer good book, just stick with it.
It's a bit like trench crusaders, which is pretty good.
It looks good, you might not be able to stand it at first, but if you stick with it, it feels great By the way, I originally thought it was an ordinary medieval western fantasy, but I was a little confused until War Machine came out.
It's a niche novel, quite interesting.
Very artistic content, very good book
It's a bit like a trench crusader worldview, which is rare.
It's a bit like a trench crusade. At present, the world view has not been developed yet.
