Synopsis

[Last century, psychiatric hospital, monsters, slow burn, mystery, no System]

The day twelve-year-old Danny was sent to Willowbrook Psychiatric Hospital, everyone in town said he was crazy.

He smashed a window in class and screamed that something inside the walls was calling to him.

Symbols he drew unconsciously covered the margins of his textbooks, like ancient writing!

He began to forget his mother’s face, his birthday, and the name of his best friend.

The doctors called it “early-onset schizophrenia” and said electroshock therapy could “fix” him.

Only his three friends refused to believe it.

They searched desperately for evidence to make the adults believe them: walls with twisting human faces, underground membranes that breathed without stopping…

The children’s eyes were vacant, as if something had hollowed them out from within.

They heard whispers from inside the walls, saw reflections in mirrors lag half a beat behind, and smelled decay.

That thing had been eating all along.

Now it had chosen Danny.
