Cultivating Immortality in Water Margin: Dalang Defies Heaven

Pan Jinlian and Ximen Qing poison Wu Dalang. As he lies dying, his obsession and seething resentment unexpectedly activate his ancestral baked-flatbread pot, the Heavenly Artifice Cauldron. He is reborn three days before his murder and awakens the divine artifact. Calmly using those three days to make his plans, he not only averts the crisis but also punishes Ximen Qing and Pan Jinlian severely. He earns his first fortune in the process and sets out on the path of cultivation.

In search of his younger brother, Wu Song, and a way forward in his cultivation, Wu Dalang travels to Liangshan. Using his ability to deduce the workings of all things, he helps Song Jiang solve a difficult problem and earns the chance to open a baked-flatbread shop at the foot of Liangshan, becoming an unofficial member of the stronghold. He makes the shop his base, navigates his relationships with the heroes, and uses the divine artifact’s power of deduction to solve their problems in exchange for cultivation resources, gradually weaving an enormous network of connections.
