In 1988, Su Wantang, whose parents died, was assigned to teach in Liuhe Town, northern Jiangsu, and lived in the home of Shen Zhizhou, a well-known "son-in-law" in the town.
Shen Zhizhou is taciturn and lives in the town repairing electrical appliances with his five-year-old son Sui Sui, but is looked down upon by others. When Su Wantang first came here, she just wanted to live a stable life, but she was gradually melted away by her innocence as time went by - the little guy called her "Mom" with missing front teeth, used tree branches to draw "family portraits" on the dirt, and secretly stuffed sesame candies that she was reluctant to eat into her pocket.
And the man who was always repairing the radio under the locust tree would warm the sweet potato porridge before she went to work, ride to school to pick her up on rainy days, and stand silently in front of her when she was wronged. There are yellowed college notes locked in his box, and his past hides the scars of an era. His hands should not only be used to repair farm tools, but he lived the most honorable life in this world of fireworks.
This is a story about "home". Two homeless people, in the henna-grown yard, in the laughter of the years, in the long stream of firewood, rice, oil and salt, slowly get closer and heal each other.

It's pretty good, bland, the happy life of ordinary people.
I was just curious whether Suisui was my biological child, so I didn't look at it.
