In the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty, Zhang Yuan leads the remnants of the Yellow Turbans to escape the pursuing Han army.
Looking back at the Han dynasty’s incompetence and the fractured land controlled by rival warlords, Zhang Yuan raises the Essentials of the Way of Great Peace and uses himself as a conduit to summon the First Emperor, Ying Zheng.
Ying Zheng looks at Zhang Yuan, who is on the verge of death from the Five Declines of Heaven and Man, and asks calmly:
“Why do you want Us to be your lord?”
Zhang Yuan looks up at the land of Huaxia, soon to be divided among rival warlords, and replies:
“As the Little Teacher of Virtue!”
“I once shouted until my voice began to fade.”
“I once suffered until I could no longer feel sorrow.”
“I once led the Yellow Turban Army in its struggle, but little by little, I came to see the world for what it was.”
“Now, all I have left is one final wish.”
“I beg our ancestor to lead these brothers, cast aside by the world, to survive.”
“Then I can die without regret!”
Ying Zheng’s gaze remains steady. He helps Zhang Yuan to his feet and says calmly:
“We will not abandon a single one of Our people.”
“If this world will not give Our people justice, then We will!”
“But you cannot die just yet!”
“First, help Us activate the Ancestor’s Unyielding System!”
Once the System is activated, Ying Zheng transmigrates through time and invites allies to join him.
As the rival warlords vie for supremacy:
Cao Cao: “Good grief! Why does Ying Zheng have so many fierce generals and talented officials?”
Liu Bei: “Third Brother, Zhao Xin is incredibly brave. Hurry and help Yunchang!”
Sun Quan: “Even my brother Sun Ce couldn’t beat that obscure commander. Where on earth did he come from?”
Yet when the people invited by Ying Zheng are asked, they all answer in unison:
“We’re all from the 21st century!”
