I Saved You, Yet You Turned Against Me

In the Great Jing dynasty, a century of peace has weakened imperial authority. The empress and her elder brother, the chancellor, control half the court. The Li family, a prestigious clan of a century’s standing, includes Li Xian, a man of unimpeachable integrity. The chancellor sees him as a thorn in his side, forges an imperial decree, accuses him of corruption, and wipes out his entire family. From then on, he takes control of the dynasty, commands a private army, and amasses wealth enough to rival a nation. General Han, Li Xian’s close friend, is summoned back to the capital from the frontier. Seeing his old friend’s family destroyed fills him with grief, and he secretly begins investigating the matter. Eighteen years later, General Han’s son, Han Jing’an, earns fame at a young age and is named Marquis of Jingyuan. He commands the Northern Frontier forces and becomes the royal family’s weapon for keeping the great clans in check. At court, the Han and Du clans struggle openly, while undercurrents churn beneath the surface. The male lead is betrayed by his comrades on the battlefield and, wounded, flees into the mountains, where the female lead saves him. Thus begins a tale of mutual redemption, full of misunderstandings.
