Tang Sanzang transmigrates and becomes the monk heading west to fetch the scriptures.
He’s also bound to the “Three Realms Livestream System.” The entire journey must be streamed, and if his popularity score falls short, he’ll be erased on the spot.
And so, everything goes completely off the rails:
After recruiting Wukong, he streams “A Feasibility Report on Taming a Short-Tempered Stone Monkey at Two-World Mountain.”
When he hunts demons at Gao Village, he changes the title to “In-Depth Research: A Live-in Son-in-Law’s Self-Cultivation and Dietary Standards.”
During the Kingdom of Women tribulation, he launches a paid stream called “How I Keep My Tang Sanzang Persona from Cracking Under a Top-Tier Romance Offensive.”
Along the way, Wukong learns to curl his master’s hair with the Golden Cudgel, Bajie becomes a top-tier star in the mukbang scene, and Sha Seng turns into a numbers-obsessed accountant.
The demons who once waylaid travelers and robbed them now line up to appear as “special guests.”
The gods and Buddhas of Heaven secretly make alt accounts, lurk in the livestream, and shower him with tips and spoiler comments:
“Streamer, run! The next demon has powerful backing!”
“I’m tipping ten flat peaches. I want to see Monkey Brother turn into a flagpole again!”
At last, they reach Spirit Mountain and stand before the supreme scriptures.
Facing the livestream camera, Tang Sanzang smiles faintly. “Thanks for sticking with us all the way, folks. Next, it’s time to livestream the overthrow of Spirit Mountain and give this Journey to the West a little modern-day shock.”
