Pony: A Dream at Twilight

“Where the hell am I? Is this still China?”

The human looked at the little ponies, who barely reached his waist. They eyed him with fear and curiosity, chattering in a language he couldn’t understand. At last, a white alicorn about his height told him in broken speech that he had arrived in a magical fairy-tale world ruled by ponies.

He had forgotten who he was and couldn’t find a way back, so he had no choice but to stay for now in this fairy-tale utopia.

But the utopia didn’t seem so wonderful. The nobles wanted him executed, and the cabinet wanted to file him away. Worse still, he discovered that something inside him was waking up, and he was becoming less and less like himself.

He asked the princess, “What will I become?”

The princess was silent for a long time, so long that he thought she wouldn’t answer. Then she said, “I don’t know. But if you lose control, I’ll stop you before you can hurt anyone.”

He simply nodded.
