Jie Zhenguo (1910-1940), whose childhood name was Xiaoshun, was born in Wucheng, Shandong Province. At the age of 10, he fled famine with his father and brother to the Zhaogezhuang coal mine in Kailuan. At the age of 14, he worked as a child in a well and practiced martial arts in his spare time to strengthen his health. In 1938, he participated in the Kailuan Minmetals strike and served as the captain of the workers' picket brigade. In the same year, he participated in the Anti-Japanese Uprising and served as the captain of the first special agent brigade of the Jidong Anti-Japanese Allied Forces. On August 1, 1940, he died in the battle of Yougezhuang, Luan County.
