This novel is not for everyone to read. It is heavy to write and heavy to read. If you only want to watch cool novels, palace battles, and protagonists who change their lives against the will of heaven - please swipe it away.
This is a historical novel. Strictly based on official histories such as "History of Ming Dynasty", "Records of Chongzhen" and "Northern Strategy of Ming Dynasty", nothing is fictitious or joking.
The protagonist is Wang Chengen, a native of Xingtai, who entered the palace at the age of fourteen. He is not Wei Zhongxian and has never fought for power in his life. There were only a few things he did: grind ink, deliver tea, sweep, check accounts, train troops, raise wages, defend the city, and die for the Lord.
The rhythm is very slow, from the 47th year of Wanli to the 17th year of Chongzhen, like a person walking, step by step.
The ending is written at the beginning: Chongzhen died, and Wang Chengen also died. No miracles, no reversals.
There is a copper lamp in the book that has been with him for more than twenty years. The lights are there, the people are there. When the lights go out, people die. There is also a book full of names - the names of the soldiers guarding the border. He was afraid they would be forgotten.
I didn't write this book to make you happy. It is for a person to be remembered. There is only one sentence about him in the official history: "I will die because of my gratitude." How long did he live? What have you experienced? No one knows. I want to make up for his forgotten life bit by bit.
If you would like to open it, thank you. If you don't want to, that's okay.
"A servant from Meishan can make the history of Ming Dynasty last forever." - That's what this book is all about.
