On a rainy night in Wuhai City, Lin Du was nothing more than an ordinary archive clerk.
By day, he copied case files. By night, he guarded old records. He earned just enough to buy his younger sister her dream-calming medicine.
Then, late one night, among a batch of sealed relics from the Old Lighthouse, he uncovered a brass key.
Beneath it lay a charred label, only half of it remaining.
The name of the person who had handed it over belonged to his older brother, Lin Zhou, who had been declared dead three years earlier.
From that moment on, Lin Du's life changed completely.
Behind the key lay an empty archive from days gone by.
The archive could issue cards, record names, and restore previous versions. It could also reclassify one anomaly after another, things that should never have existed in the real world, as archived files.
The Unlit Apartments, the Black Letter Train, the White Rain School, the Old East Bay Lighthouse...
With every file he reclassified, Lin Du gained another chance to survive, and drew closer to Lin Zhou's old case, marked `Unsealed`.
But he soon discovered that the Night Watch Bureau was investigating him, the Deep Tide Cult was searching for him, and the White Tower didn't want that old light to shine again.
More urgent than any ghost story, though, was the fact that his sister's medicine was running out.
