In the fifth year of the apocalypse, I died at the jaws of a zombie.
With his last breath, my paralyzed husband said:
“My greatest regret in this life is that I never got to break through convention and be with my ‘younger sister.’”
The “younger sister” he spoke of was a poor student I had supported for six years. They weren’t related by blood.
And I was the wife he had formally married, the woman who bore him children and struggled to keep our family alive through five years of the apocalypse.
Reborn eight years earlier, before any of it had begun.
I looked at the message on my phone from his “younger sister”:
“Yao Yao, my brother wants to take you to dinner tonight. You have to come~”
I smiled and typed back, “Sure, I’ll be there.”
Then I turned around and sent a bundle of records detailing every bit of financial support I’d given her over the past six years, along with their flirtatious chat logs, to the school forum and all her admirers.
In this life, I’ll watch this pair of “true lovers” get what they deserve, scorned by everyone.
As for me, I’ll stockpile ten billion worth of supplies and build humanity’s last ark.
But why has the man who silently protected me until his dying breath in my previous life appeared so early this time?
He gazed at the mountain of supplies I’d amassed, his eyes unreadable. “Xie Yao, did you… come back too?”
Hello everyone, I am an author. I was full of enthusiasm when I wrote the article, but I ran out of inspiration. I looked at the author's backend data every day and no one urged me to like or comment. It was uncomfortable, so I continued to stand alone and wrote in my saved manuscript until the finale before posting it. I'm so distracted right now that I don't even have the motivation to write when I see no one commenting. I won't give up. I'll continue to post it after I finish writing the finale.
